Shinkansen

From Narita International Airport

  • Catch the NEX Narita Express train from the airport to Tokyo Station – 1 hour
  • Transfer to the Shinkansen (bullet train) at Tokyo Station – 10 minutes
  • Catch the Shinkansen to Nagano from Tokyo Station – 1.5 hours
  • Ask the station attendant at Nagano Station which platform goes to Myoko Kogen and catch the train – 1 hour

From Haneda International Airport

  • Catch the Tokyo Monorail on the Keihin Tohoku Line to Hamamatsucho Station – 23 minutes
  • Transfer to the Yamanote Line and catch the train to Tokyo Station – 6 minutes
  • Transfer to the Shinkansen (bullet train) at Tokyo Station – 10 minutes
  • Catch the Shinkansen to Nagano from Tokyo Station – 1.5 hours
  • Ask the station attendant at Nagano Station which platform goes to Myoko Kogen and catch the train – 1 hour

Nagano Snow Shuttle

An alternative to taking the trains from Tokyo is to use the Nagano Snow Shuttle which goes from both Haneda and Narita Airports and goes to Myoko Kogen. This shuttle also collects guests from Nagano station.

This is another shuttle that operates from Narita and Haneda airports to Akakura.

Joetsu-Myoko Ski Shuttle

Another option is to take the new ski shuttle from the new Joetsu-Myoko Shinkansen (Bullet Train) Station. This shuttle is a free service that runs between Joetsu-Myoko station and Akakura.

This shuttle operates daily between 26th December and 8th January and operates on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays from the 9th January to 21st March.
